Funeral services for Linda Louise Reel, of Brookhaven, are Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church.

Mrs. Reel, 69, was born June 18, 1949. She graduated from St. Mary of the Pines High School and St. Dominican College in New Orleans. She went on to receive her master’s degree from Tulane in microbiology and parasitology as well as her law degree from the University of Miami. She served as a deputy sheriff with the Jefferson Parish Crime Lab before being recruited by the FBI to be one of their first female special agents. She served 23 years as a special agent, undercover agent and supervisor of the white collar crime division and the violent crime and terrorist division for northern Florida and the Florida panhandle.

Donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
