Funeral services for Gomer Lamar Shumaker, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive). Bro. Jeff Davis will officiate the services.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. the funeral home and will continue Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Shumaker, 68, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born Oct. 20, 1948, in Attala County, to Gomer Jackson Shumaker and Lavelle Morehead Shumaker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting pool. He was a loving husband and father.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 28 years, Deanna Shumaker; daughter, Theresa Tate and husband Jay; sons, David Shumaker and wife, Wendi and Mark Shumaker and wife Wendy; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Dianna Beacham; along with host of loving family and wonderful friends.
