James William Bowlin

Funeral services for  James William Bowlin, of Bogue Chitto, are Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial at Montgomery Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto. Bro. Jess Greer and Bro. Edwin Johnson will officiate.

Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Bowlin, 79, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Veterans Medical Center in Jackson. He was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Lincoln County, to Jim H. and Lena Mae Richardson Bowlin. He was with the Mississippi Army National Guard out of Brookhaven, for 10 years and reached the rank of sergeant. He was a member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading, especially works concerning medicine and anyything to do with aviation. He also was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his brother, Freddie Creel of Hammond, Louisiana; sister, Sharon Ann Turner and husband Jack of Deming, New Mexico; nephews, Mike Turner and Ray Turner; niece, Misty Larson; C. L. Richardson and family; and a host of friends.
