Sheriff: Teen who didn’t know how to swim drowns
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A sheriff says a Mississippi teenager who didn’t know how to swim has drowned in a lake.
Neshoba County Sheriff Tommy Waddell tells news outlets that 15-year old Jerry Lee Triplett either jumped or slipped off a pier Sunday evening in Lake Pushmataha.
Waddell says Triplett’s body was found in water about 18 feet deep.
The lake is on land owned by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, but Triplett was not a tribe member.
