Funeral services for Alisa Gail Smith Forrest, of Brookhaven, are Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Landon Smith and Dr. Garland Boyd will officiate.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Forrest, 55, died Saturday, Sept.23, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born March 16, 1962, to Lee Roy and Polly Smith in Brookhaven, and was a graduate of Brookhaven High School. After high school, she went on to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College where she received two degrees. Many may remember her from her restaurant, Lisa’s Place, on Highway 550, or from her five years working as a lab tech at KDMC. Alisa enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was also an excellent cook and was awarded the Wooden Spoon Award for her sweet potato and banana casserole. Alisa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Smith; mother-in-law, Bonita Faye Forrest; sister-in-law, Celana Forrest; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Boyte and Mr. and Mrs. Hamlin Smith.

Survivors are her husband, Tony Forrest; son, Geoffery Forrest; daughter, Krishanna Harvey; mother, Polly Smith; brothers, Larone Smith and wife Debbi, Kerry G. Smith and wife Sherree; grandchildren, Jason Heathcock, Michael Forrest and Tara Rose Harvey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Smith; mother-in-law, Bonita Faye Forrest; sister-in-law, Celana Forrest; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Boyte and Mr. and Mrs. Hamlin Smith.
