Three innings were all the Wesson Lady Cobras needed to shut out Hazlehurst Monday night. The Lady Cobras took advantage of a muddy field and errors by the Lady Indians to win 16-0.

Wesson took a three-run lead into the second inning. With one out and two runners on, Arie Douglas hit an RBI single. Anna Claire Crow followed with an RBI single of her own. The Lady Cobras scored two more times on errors, before the Lady Indians could record the final two outs.

Leading 7-0 heading into the third, the Lady Cobras secured their shutout by scoring nine runs and playing good defense. With no outs and two runners on base, Bre Westbrook nailed a three-run homerun. Shelby Maxwell followed with an RBI single. Brooke Jones scored the final runs of the night on a three-run homerun, to give the Lady Cobras the 16-0 shutout.

The Lady Cobras will be home tonight as they play a double header against Jefferson County. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
