West Lincoln falls 6-1 to Franklin County

The West Lincoln Lady Bears fell to Franklin County 6-1 in softball action Monday.
Franklin County got on the board early with two runs in the first, then added another four runs in the third.
West Lincoln’s only run came in the second inning.
Both teams racked up eight hits, but West Lincoln’s six errors were the difference in the game.
Camryn Summerall, Bailee Goodson, Georganna Allen, Kelsi Freeman, Micah Powell, Adi Paden, Madison McNatt and Heidi Smith had hits for West Lincoln. Maddox Redd had an RBI off a fielder’s choice.
Freeman pitched four innings and gave up six runs on five hits, none of them earned. She struck out two and walked two.
Morgan Newman pitched two innings and gave up no runs on three hits. She struck out two.
Sydney Scott picked up the win for Franklin County.
West Lincoln takes the field again Oct. 2 at Brookhaven.
