The Enterprise Yellow Jackets started off the football season with an eight-point win in overtime against Salem, 28-20. Very little has gone their way since.

A home field loss was handed to them in week two by Puckett, with the Jackets falling 33-16. The losses after that came in larger margins.

Week three was a 49-12 loss to Richton on the road, and week four was a 40-12 defeat at the hands of Clarkdale on Enterprise’s own turf. Homecoming faired no better for the Yellow Jackets, when McLaurin claimed a decisive victory of 40-6.

This week Enterprise was on the road once again, meeting the Mize Bulldogs. The 3-3 team came off a win at Wesson last week during the Cobras’ homecoming, 32-21.

Mize was geared up for another win, but the Yellow Jackets were not. Enterprise went scoreless for the first half of the game, as the Bulldogs racked up touchdown after touchdown to enter the half 36-0. The Jackets’ best accomplishment was keeping Mize out of the end zone for the remainder of the game, and adding a touchdown plus a two-point conversion late in the game.

Final score was Mize 36, Enterprise 8. The Yellow Jackets face West Lincoln in a district game on the Bears’ home field Friday.
