Funeral services for Ervin Chris Bessonette, of Brookhaven are today, Sept. 30, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial at Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. Carl Adamson will officiate the services.

Visitation will be today, Sept. 30, 2017, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Bessonette, 57, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson with his loving family by his side. He was born Dec. 31, 1959, to Freddie Q. and Rita Smith Bessonette. He was a member of Union Hall Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a roofer and also in the oilfield. He enjoyed canoeing, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Rita Smith Bessonette.

Survivors are his father, Freddie Q. Bessonette, of Brookhaven; siblings, Debbie Bessonette Richardson and husband Raymond, of Brookhaven, Freddie Bessonette and wife Peggy, of Brookhaven, Steven Bessonette and wife Sherry, of Brookhaven, and Angie Bessonette Smith and husband Shane, of Brookhaven; special friends, Inge Vice and Andy Crosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Marty Richardson, Casey Bessonette, Steven Q. Bessonette, Raymond Richardson, Freddie B. Bessonette and Steven Bessonette.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Sta-Home Healthcare and the staff of Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, Mississippi Cancer Institute in McComb and St. Dominic’s Hospital.
