West Lincoln drops two in opening round of playoffs

The West Lincoln Lady Bears fell to Union Saturday in the first round of the slow-pitch softball playoffs.
Union racked up 12 hits in a 10-0 shutout in the opening game. West Lincoln had four hits in the game, but also four errors.
Kelsi Freeman picked up the loss, pitching 5.2 innings and giving up all 10 runs (six earned). She struck out one.
Adi Paden hit a double, and Camryn Summerall, Maddox Redd and Bailee Goodson reached safely.
The second game was more of the same as Union piled up 13 hits in three innings, shutting out the Lady Bears 15-0.
Freeman pitched 2.2 innings and gave up 15 runs on 13 hits (11 earned). She walked five and gave up two homers.
Freeman hit a double, and Summerall, Goodson and Madison McNatt reached base.
