The Wesson Lady Cobras will have to wait until Thursday to play the second round of playoffs due to rain delays.

Wesson took the first round of games in the MHSAA softball playoffs Saturday against the Raleigh Lady Lions. Wesson ousted Raleigh in two games, winning 18-6 and 9-6.

The Lady Cobras were eager to meet the Purvis Lady Tornados on Tuesday, but Mother Nature had other plans. Due to recent rains soaking Wesson’s field, the games have been rescheduled for Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m. The second game will start at 6:30 p.m. and a third game — if necessary — will be played at 8 p.m.

The rescheduling will not affect other rounds of the playoffs, since the next round is set for Saturday.
