Tim and Robin Vaughan announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Ruth Vaughan of Brookhaven, to Joseph Michael Zimmerman of Roxie.

He is the son of Nicole Zimmerman Maranto.

The bride-elect is granddaughter of Katie Reid and the late Rev. Wiley Reid of Brookhaven, Peck Vaughn and the late Verlyn Vaughn of Brookhaven, and Mr. and Mrs. Quiency Hall of Brookhaven. She is the great-granddaughter of Elsie Smith and the late Larry Smith of Brookhaven.

Miss Vaughan is a 2014 graduate of Brookhaven Academy. She is an undergraduate student at Mississippi College pursuing a degree in the psychology of mental health. After graduation in 2018, she will pursue a master’s degree in psychology of play therapy. She is employed at Backwood Bayou in Brookhaven.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Zimmerman Jr. of Roxie.

Mr. Zimmerman is a 2013 graduate of Brookhaven Academy and a 2017 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College with a degree in the science of nursing. He is an undergraduate student at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. He is employed by Southwest Mississippi Community Hospital in McComb in the ICU cardiology unit.

The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in a private family ceremony in Natchez.

A reception will be held Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, 2-4 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, Friendship Lane, Brookhaven. All friends and family are invited to attend the reception.
