One local high school has rearranged its Friday night football schedule in an attempt to avoid expected nasty weather.

The Lawrence County Cougars home game against Poplarville will begin at 5 p.m.

Activities at the Brookhaven High School home game against South Jones are as follows:

• Senior recognition for band — 5:15 p.m.
• Senior recognition for football — 5:45 p.m.
• Senior recognition for cheer — 6:30 p.m.
• Kickoff — 7 p.m.

 

 

The Weather Channel’s forecast for today shows an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms beginning late this afternoon and continuing into the early hours of Saturday.

Brookhaven School District media account had announced earlier that events had been moved, but are now announcing the above times.
