A segment of I-55 in Pike County, beginning at exit 20A in Summit and extending southerly to exit 13 in Fernwood, will be designated as the “Bo Diddley Memorial Highway.”

The official dedication takes place today at 10:30 a.m. at the Mississippi Department of Transportation District 7 auditorium in McComb. MDOT will erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the highway.

“This memorial will remind all who travel this section of U.S. Interstate 55 in Pike County of the iconic Mississippi legend Bo Diddley,” said transportation commissioner Tom King. “It’s an honor to dedicate this section of highway in his memory.”
