All area veterans and their families are invited to attend a lunch in their honor for Veterans Day.

Lunch and the program will be held at the Lincoln Civic Center Saturday.

Veterans and their families will be served lunch starting at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at 12:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend at that time.

The program will include a special recognition for veterans who have received the Purple Heart Medal, said Sen. Sally Doty, R-Brookhaven, who is one of the organizers.

Walk-ins are welcome. Veterans can also call 601-833-1411 to be added to a list to receive a personal invitations to future Veterans Day programs, Doty said. The information will not be used for any other purpose, she said.
