Cade Cangemi with Brookhaven Electric checks the Christmas lights on East Monticello Street Tuesday night. Brookhaven Electric is helping the city’s public works department put up the lights this year since the department’s bucket truck is out of service. About 100 sets of lights, which were purchased 15 years ago, will be installed before the annual Christmas parade Nov. 30, said Billy Case with the street department. It takes about two weeks to get the lights up, which crews do at night when traffic is lighter.
