Funeral services for Conley W. Peavy, of Monticello, will be Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lawrence County.

Visitation will be today, Dec. 26, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Peavy, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at his son’s home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on April 25, 1939, in Lincoln County, to Edward and Fleda Bunyard Peavy. He served his country in the US Army; was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist

Church; worked for the US Postal Service where he served as the post master of the Jayess Post Office; and enjoyed his cows, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather

and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife of 54 years, Peggy Pennington Peavy; one brother and one sister.

Survivors are his son, Benji Peavy and wife Beverly of Lawrence County, daughter, Pollyanna Peavy Temple and husband David of Osyka; grandchildren, Jake Wilson and wife Jennifer, Elizabeth Wilson McDaniel and husband John, Joseph Peavy and wife Audrey, Tanner Peavy and wife Brittany,and Jesse Peavy; eight great-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Rusty Garrett, Phillip Russell, Matt Hill, Roger Wilson, Kyle Rodriguez and Jake Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Peavy, Tanner Peavy and Jesse Peavy. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Compassus.
