Memorial services for Beverly Jean Hughes, of Brookhaven, are Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive). Bro. Jeff Davis will officiate the services.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hughes, 60, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Country Brook Living Center with her loving family by her side. She was born July 3, 1957, in Crystal Springs, to Wade Delmore Matthews and Annie Laura Baldridge Matthews. She enjoyed going to garage sales and animals. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward “Curley” Hughes; parents; son, Thomas Wayne Blalock; and brother, Montgomery Wade Matthews.

Survivors are her daughters, Stacy Etheridge and Chasity Blalock; brothers, Johnny Matthews and Ronnie Matthews; sisters, Betty Hill, Sue Marion and Donna Steele; seven grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
