Servitium Club to host pancake day — Proceeds from annual event go to benefit Brookhaven charities

Start warming your syrup and find some spreadable butter, because the Brookhaven Servitium Club is hosting its annual charity pancake day Tuesday.

The fundraiser will be held at the downtown First United Methodist Church’s activity center on South Jackson Street. It starts at 6 a.m. and lasts a full 13 hours, ending at 7 p.m.

Members of the club take turns at the griddle, and everything is prepared on location. For $6, you get all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage, and Brian Emory, chairman of the pancake breakfast, said to-go orders of any size are also welcome.

Servitium hosts two benefits a year — the early spring pancake day and an autumn red beans and rice dinner — and every cent the club collects gets redirected into the local community.

“Everything we make goes back into Brookhaven,” Emory said.
