Ole Brook tennis starts season off on the right foot

The BHS tennis team began their 2018 season with a 7-0 win over West Jones Monday at Brookhill Tennis Center.
Although Ole Brook won all varsity matches, three of the matches went to third set tie-breakers. The junior varsity also posted an impressive win with a team score of 5-1.
Varsity matches:
• Girls dingles — Sarah Grace Evans defeated Kolbi Holified 6-1, 4-6, 1-0.
• Boys singles — Braxton Wallis defeated Taylor Jefcoat 7-5, 6-4.
• No. 1 girls doubles — Maggie Massengill/Lea Allen defeated Eva Kip/Haven Howell 6-2, 3-6, 1-0.
• No. 2 girls doubles —Abbigail Jones/Gracey Massengill defeated Emmy Scruggs/Carly Williams 6-0, 6-1.
• No. 1 boys doubles — Will Moak/Daniel Panzica defeated Alan Follis/River Howell 6-1, 6-2.
• No. 2 boys doubles — Hayden Waldon/Jonah Clark defeated Tanner Bullock/Cody Causey 6-2, 6-1.
• Mixed doubles —Will Allen/Madeline King defeated Jack Taylor/Bailey James 6-1, 4-6, 1-0.
Junior varsity matches:
• River Gray/Lily Gray defeated Sadie Scruggs/Sarah Hancock 8-1.
• Tennijah Smith/Maddie Boyte defeated Peyton Williams/Madeline Robinson 8-0.
• Ellie Slay/Emily Grace Boutwell defeated Cassie Winship/Breonna Williams 8-1.
• McLain Henderson/James Gardner defeated Miller French/Sam Shumake 8-1.
• Logan Case/Pierce Legg lost to Allen Follis/Tanner Bullock 8-6.
• David Sones defeated AK Leggett 8-6.
The Ole Brook Tennis team travels to Pearl for their next match on Thursday at 4 p.m.
