Funeral services for Rodney Ray Hodges, of Summit, were Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. at Moak’s Creek Baptist Church in Summit with burial at the church cemetery. Rev. Jess Greer and Bro. Pat Rice officiated the services.

Visitation was held Sunday, March 11, 2018, from 1:30 p.m. until time of services at the church.

Mr. Hodges, 61, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Courtyard and Rehab Center in McComb. He was born March 6, 1957, in Pike County, to William Allen and Louise Johnston Hodges. He was a member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church. He graduated from North Pike High School in 1974.

He was a professor at Nichols State University. He was a twin brother and a loving son who enjoyed the outdoors, Civil War history and music. After retiring from Nichols he returned to Summit. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father; twin brother, Robbie Hodges, and brother, Bruce Hodges.

Survivors are his mother; two brothers, Kevin (Penny) Hodges, of Brookhaven and Clayton (Connie) Hodges, of Brookhaven; one sister, Linda (Sam) Branch, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; three nephews, Jeremy (Amber) Boyd, of Brandon, Cal (Cortney) Hodges, of Brookhaven and Dr. Cole Hodges, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two nieces, Summer Williams, of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Autumn Gatlin of Brookhaven.

Pallbearers were Keith Johnston, Jeremy Boyd, Cal Hodges, Perry Johnston, Marlin Bass and Josh Lofton.
