Houston Police: Mom told children ‘We’re going to see Jesus’ before trying to burn car
HOUSTON, Texas — A woman declared “We’re going to see Jesus” as she set her car on fire with her three children inside, Houston police officials told television station KHOU.
Police told the television station the woman at a Houston car wash Sunday began revving the engine until it caught fire. Witnesses rescued the woman’s three daughters, ages 9,11 and 13.

The woman reportedly tried to run away on foot with the children, but was later arrested. She is facing three counts of aggravated assault on a family member, the Associated Press said. A mental health evaluation is pending.
