Funeral services for for David L. Magee, of McCall Creek, are today, May 30, 2018, at noon at McCall Creek Church of God with burial at the church cemetery. Bro. Travis Touchstone and Bro. Lonnie Case will officiate the services. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was held Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue today, May 30, 2018, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Mr. Magee, 90, died Monday, May 28, 2018. Pvt. Magee was born May 6, 1928, to Stevie and Jocie Smith Magee, in McCall Creek. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, 4th Division-155th Infantry during the Korean War. It was all too fitting that he passed from this life on Memorial Day. He was a hardworking, loving man who will be dearly missed by all of those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katheryn Simmons Magee; brother, Othel Magee; and sister, Pauline Jackson.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Magee; son, David Allen Magee and wife, Karen, of McCall Creek; daughters, Mary Smith and husband, Billy, of Loyd Star, Martha Noble and husband, Ronnie, of McCall Creek, Jackie Lowe and husband, Andrew, of Flowood, Mitti Bilbo and husband, M.D., of Lucien; brothers, S.E. and Bart Magee, of McCall Creek; sisters, Vonceil Smith and Elaine Arnold, of McCall Creek; grandchildren, Hope Case, Jason Magee, Preston Porter, Ashley Auttonberry, Johnny Noble, Kristin Hanks, Jeffrey and Timothy Thornton, Clint and Casey Wilkinson and Jocie Magee; and 27 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Ministries at 450 Towne Center Blvd. Ridgeland, MS 39157 or to McCall Creek Church of God Cemetery Fund at 129 Magee Road, McCall Creek, MS 39647.
