MCCOMB, Miss. (AP) — Dogs from Mississippi shelters have been flown to the East Coast for their new homes.
A charter plane landed Sunday morning at McComb-Pike County Airport and departed with nearly 100 dogs.
The Enterprise-Journal reports the flight had left shortly before noon with 97 dogs from shelters in McComb, Clarksdale, Hattiesburg and DeSoto County. The dogs were bound for New Jersey, where an animal shelter would help them get adopted and find permanent homes.
Wings of Rescue, greatergood.org and freekibble.com sponsored the trip.
Wings of Rescue CEO Ric Browde is a Beverly Hills, California, record producer who was involved in the 1980s glam metal scene and worked with Poison and Ted Nugent. Browde says the flight was his 51st this year and that he did 184 last year.
