Hog Chain’s Gerald Leger, 87, was on his way home from Wesson Wednesday when his Ford pickup had a disagreement with a 42-inch copperhead on Hwy. 51. Leger, a former chicken farmer who’s active at the senior citizens center, advised folks to watch where they step this summer. Though the copperhead wasn’t quite 4 feet long, Leger said, “if he’d have lived a little bit longer he would have been.”
