MADISON, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi woman says her husband was unarmed when he was shot to death by a sheriff’s deputy.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is leading the probe into what happened Friday night in Madison County.

Amanda Renfroe said her 36-year-old husband, Michael Renfroe of Jackson, dropped a stick out his truck window when they were together. She says he turned the truck around and got out to retrieve the stick, and a deputy pulled behind them without blue lights flashing.
