Funeral services for Ila June McCreight Malone, of Oxford, are Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford with burial at Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Justin McGuire will officiate the services.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Malone, 85, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Wahalak, to the late Edgar and Lillie Dukes McCreight. She was retired from Mississippi State University where she served as the supervisor of graduate admissions. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Starkville. She was an excellent cook and possessed a green thumb when it came to gardening. She found great joy in being a mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,Wick Malone; daughter, Carolyn Marie Lagrone; and 12 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Janis Lagrone Baker, of Oxford; sons, Ricky Lagrone and his wife, Debbie, of Brookhaven, and John Alan Lagrone Sr., of Oxford; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
