Mississippi man wanted in wife’s death arrested in Utah
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Federal authorities say a Mississippi man wanted in the death of his wife has been arrested at a popular getaway spot along the Utah-Idaho state line.
The U.S. Marshals Service says 61-year-old Charles Eugene Bowman was taken into custody Thursday at a campground near Bear Lake after more than two weeks on the run.
Bowman disappeared from Mississippi’s Pearl River County in late June, before sheriff’s deputies got a search warrant for his home and found the remains of 61-year-old Kathleen Bowman. She was last seen by relatives on Mother’s Day.
Authorities had been looking for Charles Bowman in northern Utah in southern Wyoming after sightings at gas stations and campgrounds.
He was arrested without incident. No attorney was immediately listed for him in Utah court records.
