Funeral services for Jewell Greer, of Ruth, are Monday, July 30, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at the Ruth Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Greer, 86, died Thursday, July 26, 2018, at his residence. He was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Lincoln County, to Nile and Grace Nordan Greer. He was a welder with Illinois Central Rail Road. He was a member of the Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons and a member of Ruth Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Greer; brothers, John Henry Greer and Robert Greer; and sisters, Hazel Huhn and Lavell Williams.

Survivors are his wife, Marion Juanita Greer; son, Jewel Wayne Greer and wife, Robin; daughter, Kathryn Greer Bunch; sisters, Nilene Lofton, of Moss Point, and Yvonne Miller, of Ruth; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
