Yellow Jackets hosting Richton

The Enterprise Yellow Jackets will play in front of their home fans for the first time Friday night on Harry Cole Field when they host the Richton Rebels.
The 2A Rebels from Perry County are 1-1 after losing 40-13 to Columbia in their opener and bouncing back with a 42-20 win over Sacred Heart last week. Enterprise lost 31-0 last week at Puckett, but shut the Wolves out in the second half after trailing by the same score at halftime.
Enterprise coach Brooks Burns has seen some bright spots so far in this young season, especially from his offensive line.
“Our line has really bought in to what we’re doing and have been doing a solid job run-blocking,” said Burns. “Our fullback Dylan Vaughn has run the ball really well and is running hard on every touch.”
For Enterprise to keep improving, Burns want his team to defeat their biggest enemy first, themselves.
“We’ve played two games and have punted once,” said Burns. “We’re turning the ball over in so many different ways. Our center to quarterback exchange has got to get better. We’re playing some guys at quarterback who don’t have any experience, but we need them to keep growing.”
In Richton, Burns sees a team that is balanced with some talent in their backfield.
“Tackling is going to be very important for us to be successful,” said Burns. “In practice this week I’ve seen some guys start to understand how far up they need to bring their effort and that’s been encouraging.”
