The Enterprise Yellow Jackets (0-3) are hunting for a victory Friday night when they make the 140-mile trip to take on the Clarkdale Bulldogs. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Clarkdale is located near Hwy. 45 in southern Lauderdale County. The Bulldogs are 0-3 and coming off a 46-12 loss to Lake. They were shut out 38-0 by Sebastopol in their opener and 45-0 by Stringer the following week.

Clarkdale finished 2-9 last season, but took home a 40-12 win over the Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs have won three in a row in their series with Enterprise. Clarkdale is coached by Wes Roy.

When Enterprise coach Brooks Burns looks at the Bulldogs on film, he sees a team that looks similar in many ways to his team.

“They’re like us, playing a lot of young kids,” said Burns. “The thing that sticks out is how hard they play. Our most important task is going to be to match their intensity from the start.”

The Bulldog offense is led by junior running back Landon Conklin, who has 128 rushing yards on the season. Don’t expect Clarkdale to put the ball in the air very much — they average nine passing attempts per game. Sophomore Connor Alsobrooks lead the Bulldog defense with 23 solo tackles.

“They’re probably a little faster than us in some areas, but we’ll be bigger than them in other areas,” said Burns. “It is going to come down to us being physical and not backing down.”
