A Bogue Chitto man died Tuesday after his truck crashed into a tree near Bogue Chitto Attendance Center.

Joshua Dill, 26, was traveling east on Bogue Chitto Road around 10:30 p.m. when it appears he crossed Hwy. 51 and possibly lost control of his 2008 F-150 truck, said Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris.

The truck struck a tree on the east side of Bogue Chitto Road, which is also called Monticello Street at that location.

McMorris said it appears Dill was headed home when the accident occurred. He was alone in the vehicle.

Dill was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence is in charge of arrangements.
