Funeral services for Shelton V. Smith, of Brookhaven, are Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, from noon until time of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 93, of Brookhaven, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2018. He was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Arm, to George R. Daniels and Julia Jolly Daniels.

He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He also was a retired repairman for AT&T along with being a member of Arm Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, spend time in his garden and absolutely adored fishing and making jigs. He loved spending time with his fishing buddies whom most looked up to him as a fatherly figure.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Janice Lynn; brothers, Joe Jolly Daniels, Patrick Daniels and Robert Daniels.

Survivors are the love of his life of 71 years, wife, Mattie G. Smith; precious daughters, Judy Adams and husband, Jimmy, Kathy McGehee and husband, Robert Earl; and Debbie Smith; brother, Paul Daniels; three grandchildren, who were so special to him, Kim A. Keene and husband, Ronnie, Dana Moak and husband, Dwayne, and Chae Richardson and wife, Nikki; and seven great-grandchildren, Derek Keene, Christian Keene, Kaylee Beth Keene, Madison Moak, Brady Richardson, Brooke Richardson and Ty Montague.
