Funeral Mass for Louis N. Walker Jr. of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Brookhaven, will be Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with burial at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Hartman-Harrigill Funeral Home in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Mr. Walker, 77, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Frisco, Texas. He was born March 8, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Louis and Peggy Walker. He graduated from Memphis Catholic High School for Boys in 1959. In 1964, he completed the National Hardwood Lumber Inspectors School in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Gavin Walker. They were married for 53 years. He served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked in the hardwood lumber business until he retired in 2008. He loved fishing and hunting especially turkey and rabbit.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Michael Joseph Walker.
Survivors are his wife, Barbara Walker, of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Peggy Walker Rushing and husband, Will, of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Robin Walker, of New York, New York; sister, Patricia Taylor and husband, Larry, of Parsons, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Cheri Hess Brooks, of Brookhaven; two grandchildren, Ellie and Gavin Rushing, of Frisco, Texas; and nine nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 227 East Cherokee Street, Brookhaven, MS 39601.
