Funeral services for Roger D. Lofton Sr., of Brookhaven, are Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church with burial at the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Lofton, 70, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2018. He was born May 4, 1948, to the late Walter Lee and Monette Lofton. He was a truck driver, owning and operating his company, R & N Trucking, where he was known by his CB handles, “Bashful” or “Roger Rabbit.” He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and he was a faithful member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He was a quiet man, whose expressions could tell such a story. He will be missed by his family, friends and fellow members at New Prospect.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Foster and Sue Wall; and brother-in-law, Houston Wall.

Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Ngoc Lofton; son, Roger Dale Lofton Jr. and his wife, Laura; daughters, Vickey Robbins and Elizabeth Moree and husband, Joe; sisters, Jeanette and Diane; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Bowlin, Sawyer Bowlin, Meghan Moree, Andrew Lofton, Caleb Moree, Ben Lofton, Victoria Robbins, Sarah Beth Lofton, Wyatt Robbins and Laney Moree.
