Funeral services for James K. Oliver, of Summit, were held Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Adams United Methodist Church.

Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Oliver, 91, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1927, to Thomas “Doc” Jefferson Oliver and Lula Smith Oliver. He was retired from the United States Army where he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was also a member of Arlington Baptist Church. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Florine Oliver; and brothers and sisters.

Survivors are his son, Kenneth Ray Oliver and wife, Cathy; daughter, Betty Sue Brown and husband, Ray; five grandchildren, Jessie James Brown, Joe Brown, Kim Oliver, Sam Lewis and Jill Case; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
