The Enterprise Yellow Jackets dropped a 58-30 decision in Liberty on Friday night to the Amite County Trojans.

The Trojans led 36-14 at halftime after going up 22-6 in the first quarter.

Enterprise coach Brooks Burns says his team did a good job defending a potent Trojan passing attack. However, the Jackets were too careless with the ball and committed some costly turnovers.

“We had an interception that we made and then fumbled right back to them,” said Burns.

“We fumbled a kickoff return that they recovered. We were just too careless with the football.”

Amite County used their advantage in team speed to run away from the Enterprise defenders.

“They used outside sweeps in which they outran us to the edge,” said Burns. “That’s what hurt us the most.

Enterprise outscored Amite County 16-8 in the fourth quarter.

The Yellow Jackets conclude their season at home on Friday when they host Bogue Chitto.
