Funeral services for Thomas Raymond Ahrend, of Pear, are Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Solid Rock Pentecostal Church in Brookhaven with burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Ahrend, 67, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018. He was born Oct. 22, 1950, to John Shirley Ahrend Sr. and Leona Varnado Ahrend. He served his country in the United States Army and worked as a VA claims examiner.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Shirley Ahrend Jr., James Howell Ahrend and William Hank Ahrend.

Survivors are his brother, Ed Ahrend; and sister, Louise Ahrend Hearnsberger; special niece, Brenda Ahrend Cranfield; and her children, Matt (Shelby), Tyler (Leigh Ann), Hannah and Joseph Cranfield; and numerous other nephews, nieces and other loving family members and friends.
