Funeral services for Mary Maude White-Smith, of Brookhaven, are today, Oct. 30, 2018, at Brookhaven Funeral Home in (894 Natchez Drive) Brookhaven at 10 a.m. with burial at Ruth Cemetery in Ruth. Bro. James Quin will officiate the services.

Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and continuing today, Oct. 30, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 79, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at Diversicare of Brookhaven with her loving family by her side. She was born on Nov. 15, 1938 to Herby White and Julia Brister White. She enjoyed helping people and having a good time with all the residents of Diversicare. She was a loving mother, mawmaw, nana and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, O. M. Smith Jr.; son, David Jonathan Rushing; and sister, Thelma Ballard.

Survivors are her son, Randal Rushing and wife, Vicki; daughters, Angie Davis and husband, Dickie and Mable Jean Rushing; grandchildren, Nathan Davis and wife, Jennifer, Chad Davis and wife, Nicole, Taylor Rushing and wife, Jody Beth, Hunter Rushing, Leanna Britt and Jay Britt and wife, Madi; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Diversicare of Brookhaven and Hospice Ministries.
