Tayler Smith of Franklin County prepares to take a penalty kick Saturday night against Loyd Star. Smith would score on the kick as the  Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Hornets 3-0 to take the championship of the Loyd Star Tournament. The Franklin County boys defeated Crystal Springs 1-0 in the boys’ final. Both Franklin County teams — coached by Jeff Long — are 8-0 with neither team surrendering a goal thus far this season.
