The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves trailed by two, 39-37, at halftime, but came back to defeat the Delgado Dolphins 83-73 on the road Friday. The win moves Co-Lin to 4-1 on the year.

The first half had ups and downs for the Wolves. Co-Lin started the game with vigor and leapt out to an 11-point, 25-14, lead just nine minutes into the game. The big lead came from big plays from Cameron Woodall and Dayquan Perkins. The final 10 minutes of the first half was not as successful for Co-Lin as the Dolphins began to chip away at the lead. A couple of Delgado threes and some points off turnovers in the final minutes of the half knotted the game at 37-37, the first tie since the opening minute. A pair of free throws from Delgado’s Troy Nisby with just 16 seconds left on the clock gave the Dolphins a 39-37 lead going into intermission.

Damarius Brooks took over for Co-Lin in the opening minutes of the second half and made four straight layups to give the Wolves a lead. Co-Lin hung on to that lead for the remainder of the game despite it being cut down to just two on several occasions midway through the second. The Dolphins cut the lead to six, 67-61, with just seven minutes remaining in the game, but five straight points from Co-Lin’s Cameron Woodall followed by a three-pointer from Lazorian McNulty stretched the lead to 10. Miles Daniels followed that with a three, his first of the night to solidify the lead and the win.

Kai Morgan led Delgado with 16 points as he went 4-of-13 from three-point range. Myron Green and Cardiz Humble posted 11 each. Humble led Delgado on the boards with 10 to complete a double-double on the night.

As a team, Co-Lin shot 44 percent (31-of-71) from the floor, 35 percent (7-of-20) from three-point range, and 58 percent (14-of-24) from the free throw line. Co-Lin had 42 total rebounds.
