Loyd Star senior softball player Johnaa Norman signed a letter of intent with Copiah-Lincoln Community College in a recent ceremony at the school.
As a junior Norman was the team leader in RBIs and started at third base. Her fielding percentage was a sterling .957. Norman played a crucial role as a sophomore on the 20-3 Lady Hornet team that made it to the second round of the MHSAA 2A playoffs.
Loyd Star head coach Jan Delaughter says the Lady Wolves are getting the type of player that any coach would love to have in Norman.
“She’s going to be a great asset to their program,” said Delaughter. “She’s very disciplined and so coachable. She’s got quick hands and great foot speed. I’ve got no doubt she’s going to be able to come in and help their team, there aren’t many I’ve had like her.”
