Funeral services for Samuel McMorris Sr., of Brookhaven, are Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at New Zion Union M.B. Church in Bogue Chitto with burial at New Zion-Norfield Cemetery. Williams Mortuary in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today, Dec. 11, 2018, from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. McMorris, 70, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was born April 8, 1948, in Bogue Chitto, to Welton McMorris and Earline Dixon McMorris. He was a graduate of Eva Harris High School.

Survivors are his wife, Gladys McMorris, of Brookhaven; two sons, Horace McMorris, of Bogue Chitto, and Samuel McMorris Jr., of Brookhaven; two daughters, Veronica Bryant, of Brookhaven, and Lisa Toliver, of Tylertown; brother, Ronald McMorris, of Vicksburg; special cousin, Della Rose Posey, of Jackson; and six grandchildren.
