Velma Erwin Stroud

Graveside services for Velma Erwin Stroud, of Wesson, formerly of Greenville, are Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Union Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Stroud, was born April 11, 1915 to T.J. and Letha Erwin of Jefferson County. She was a loving person who loved serving her family, friends, church and most of all her God. She was especially devoted to her Sunday school class and studying her Bible with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Stroud; one granddaughter, Liane Germany; one grandson, James Darrin Stroud; sons-in-law, Keith Harvey and Grady Germany Sr.; four brothers (one of whom was her twin); and four sisters.

Survivors are her one son, James Doyle Stroud and wife, Faye, of Wesson; daughters, Betty Germany, of Wichita, Kansas, and Shirley Harvey, of Emmett, Idaho; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Her family wishes to thank all her doctors and the employees of Deaconess Home Health and Hospice for their dedication in caring for her. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you make donations to your favorite charity in her memory.
