A graveside service for Olive Joy Day Cook, of Madison, Mississippi, will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven. Rev. Kylie Young of First

Baptist Church in Madison will officiate the service. Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Cook, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, in Madison, Alabama, with her loving family by her side. She was born Feb. 27, 1930 in Brookhaven, to Stewart Day and Pearl Wroten Day. She enjoyed painting, photography and family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of Brookhaven High Class of 1948, and received her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi College in 1952. She was a retired school teacher and a member of First Baptist Church Madison.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband of 30 years, Rodney Cook.

Survivors are her sister, Marie “Betty” Sykes and husband, Kenneth of Mendenhall; sister-in-law, Claire Colston, of Kosciusko; three children Olive Claire Cook, of Madison, Mississippi, Charles Cook, of Texarkana, Texas, and Elizabeth Cook Milner and husband, Brian of Madison, Alabama; and one grandson, Rodney Milner of Madison, Alabama.
