A man who ran out of gas on Hwy. 84 westbound Saturday has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence, authorities said.

Cpl. Brandon Fortenberry with the Mississippi Highway Patrol said the driver of a Ford F-150 stopped on Hwy. 84 near Monticello Road in the right lane when his pickup truck ran out of gas shortly before 8 p.m. Trenton Blackmon, 21, of Natchez, was pulling a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle on a trailer. It appears he attempted to use the ATV to pull the pickup truck off the road, Fortenberry said.

While Blackmon was pulling the truck, a 2006 Mazda Tribute crashed into the rear of the trailer, which caused the trailer to go under the F-150 and pushed the F-150 into the back of the ATV, he said.

Blackmon could face additional charges.
