On March 23, the King’s Daughters Medical Center Relay for Life team will host “Fun with Disney,” a fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The event will be an interactive opportunity, with Disney characters being available for pictures and making crafts. Children participating will be given a card the characters will sign as a keepsake from the event.
“It’s just a fun event where we can come together and raise money,” Relay for Life event leader Cindie Chambers said.
Each character will have a set where children will have their picture made.
The characters are from various Disney movies such as “Tangled,” “Finding Nemo,” “Frozen,” “Moana,” “Peter Pan,” “Toy Story,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Snow White” and “Cinderella.”
Classic Disney characters will also be at the event, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy.
The event will be held at the Brookhaven Building from 9 to 11 a.m. Coffee, juice and donuts will be served.
“It’s all about celebrating our survivors and remembering who’s gone on.” Chambers said.
Children’s tickets are $10 and adult tickets are $5. They are available for purchase at the Brookhaven children’s clinic, both entrances of the hospital and the business office of the hospital.
They will also be available at the door on the day of the event. To buy advance tickets or for more information contact Chambers at 601-835-9403.
