Funeral services for Cooper James Newell will be Monday, April 1, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Red Star Ward) in Brookhaven, Mississippi, at 11 a.m., with burial to follow in the Red Star Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bishop Randall Sones will officiate the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m.  Visitation will continue Monday, April 1, 2019, at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Cooper Newell of Wesson, Mississippi, passed from this life Thursday, March 28, 2019, at his residence with his loving family by his side.  He was born May 9, 2011, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, to Lee Newell and Nicole Sones Newell. He enjoyed the outdoors, listening to music and spending time with his family.

Survivors are his parents, Lee and Nicole Newell of Wesson, Mississippi; brother, William Newell; grandparents Stacey and Wendy Newell and Jimmy and Carla Sones; and a host of family and friends.
