Funeral services for Dykes A. Britt will be on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Red Star Ward) in Wesson, Mississippi, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the Red Star Ward Cemetery in Wesson, Mississippi. Bishop Randall Sones will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Thursday, May 2, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Britt, 83, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed from this life on Monday, April 29, 2019, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 11, 1935, in Lincoln County, Mississippi, to David Alma and Leanee McAllister Britt. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Brookhaven Branch); worked many years as a maintenance supervisor for Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in Natchez, Mississippi, and in his retirement years worked in the produce department at Wal-Mart in Brookhaven, Mississippi; and enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and visiting family and friends. He loved his cats and dogs and is survived by dog, Sweetie, and cat, Clyde. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents, David and Leanee Britt; wife, Veda Grace Smith Britt; son, Donald Anthony Britt; and brothers, Dennis Britt, Donald Britt and Dwyane Britt.
Survivors are his children, Terry Britt and wife, Lisa, and Twyana Britt Morse and husband, Darrell, all of Brookhaven, Mississippi; sisters, Juanita Britt Delaughter and husband, Buddy, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and Aileen Britt Vince and husband, Jay, of Sandy Hook, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jordan Britt Browell (Mike), Mindy Morse Lofton (Luke), Jacob Morse and fiancé, Brooke King, Nicholas Britt (Karli), Regan Morse, Peyton Morse, Megan Garcia, Jamie Garcia, Carolyn Garcia and Addy Garcia; seven great-grandchildren, Rosalyn, Kason, Sawyer, Emilee, Arthur, Kinley and Korbin, and one on the way; sister-in-law, Nita Faye Case and husband, Dennis of Baton Rouge, Lousiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
