Kimberly Rich Young

Kimberly Rich Young, age 49, passed away on June 10, 2019, in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born on May 28, 1970, on Andrew’s Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland, to Edward Mark Rich and Glenda Sue Rich.

Kimberly grew up in Iran, Texas, Mississippi, Arizona and St. Louis, Missouri. She ran her father’s computer store, A-Z Computers, then worked for the Parkway School District as an IT specialist. She and her husband settled in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, where she volunteered doing animal rescue work, and acquired a menagerie of animals on their farm.

Kim was always a gifted writer and she leaves behind countess stories and poetry as well as a children’s book, “A Horse Is a Horse” (illustrated by her husband, David).

Kimberly loved family and was fiercely loyal and insisted that family means no one is left behind. Kim was a devoted wife and loving sister, daughter and aunt.

Kimberly is survived by her spouse, David, of Bogue Chitto, Mississippi; her sister, Heather (Tracy) White, of Rockford, Illinois; nieces Summer and Poppy; her brother Andrew Rich; and her parents, Sue Rich, and Edward and Linda Rich as well as cousins in Massachusetts, Missouri, Florida and Israel.

A graveside service was held at the Bogue Chitto Cemetery, Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in her name to your local animal rescue charity.
